The Process
As a two-person crew, we collaborated with a producer at Assaia to create a series of short videos showcasing how their AI technology helps airlines accelerate aircraft turnaround times. We filmed on location at SEATAC (Seattle), IAH (Houston), and YYZ (Toronto), capturing real-time ground operations and speaking with airline staff who use the tool every day. With minimal gear and a tight schedule, we navigated airport security, customs, and filming permissions—even getting access to restricted areas like the tarmac, the air traffic control tower, and the runway jet blast deflector structure. The result was a set of authentic, on-the-ground stories that showed the real-world impact of Assaia’s platform.
One of the highlights was a short piece we created to celebrate Alaska’s one millionth turnaround using the Assaia product. To mark the occasion, we captured a special moment at SeaTac where the Port of Seattle Fire Department gave the departing aircraft a water salute using their tarmac water cannons. It was a breathtaking way to mark the milestone, and the footage made for a great visual climax to the story.
