The Process
Originally slated as a lighthearted profile on Draymond Green, this project quickly took an unexpected turn. We were scheduled to film with Draymond just days before the now-infamous altercation between him and Jordan Poole during a Warriors practice on October 5, 2022. Tensions had flared, words were exchanged, and a punch thrown — a moment that quickly became national news.
We showed up at Draymond’s house early, gear in hand, ready to roll. But he wasn’t in the headspace to shoot, and the shoot was postponed.
A couple of weeks later, we returned. This time, the energy was different. What started as a standard feature evolved into something more personal — an honest moment of reflection. The footage we captured ultimately became a key part of Draymond’s public apology, offering fans and teammates a direct, sincere statement from the man himself.
